Angelina Jolie portray the character of Evelyn Salt, a CIA officer who works for a petroleum company in Washington DC. She was accused by a Soviet defector of being a Russian spy deployed to assassinate the Russian president during his US visit. Salt freaks out and worried that Russian might go after her husband. Her colleagues get hold of her for questioning but she finds her way to escape the building to go find her husband. Her actions of running makes her an instant suspect and fugitive. The chasing of her continues when she flew to New York to clear her name. At first, you would believe that she was the assassin of the Russian President. She was able to shoot the Russian President during his eulogy for the US Vice-President's funeral wake.
Salt went back to Russia only to witness the actual death of her husband in the hands of Orlov. Orlov the Soviet defector who came to see CIA for an important information and accused Salt being the Russian spy to assassinate the Russian President was actually the leader of the Russian spy. Salt made Orlov believed that she's still one of them. The death of Salt's husband made her kill Orlov and some of her buddies.
Days later after the killing of Orlov, the Russian President was declared alive and was able to go back to Russia. This is because, Salt did not use a real bullet but a spider's poisonous venom.
Jolie's action stunt was breath taking and is absolutely non-stop. She's the only stunt actress I know that could do breath catching stunts. Salt movie is just a short film and the ending is vague for me. Do they plan to have a sequel of this movie? Let's just wait. Salt movie is still showing in some theaters.
Salt movie is an action packed film. At first, I thought SALT was an acronym of something and only to find out it's a surname of the main character.
